Validation and Application (Coordination by RWTH-Aachen)
The target of Validation is to check, if the noise model calculates correctly. Therefore, noise measurements of real traffic have to be done first. The validation work is done in three stages
- Validation with Artificial Traffic Data:
Artificial traffic is created on a test track using different types of vehicles. Three different traffic setups are measured and the results will be compared to the results of the calculation, using the measured traffic data as input
- Validation with Real Traffic:
A real traffic situation in a German city is measured. Traffic data is counted and will be available for simulation as input. The results are compared
- Validation with Real Traffic in an Urban City Situation within Europe:
Real traffic situations in a city of northern Europe and a city of southern Europe are measured. Basis for the calculations is statistical traffic data
Each step leads to an improvement of the model and from step to step effort and demands for measurements and calculations are increasing. At the end, the model will be able to calculate solid results for noise emissions and immissions using statistical traffic data as input
